Abstract
The mechanical strength, dielectric strength, electrical behaviour against switching and lighting surges etc. are some of the important properties of cylindrical porcelain insulators & bushings, used in various types of electrical equipment such as switchgears, traniformers, arrestors etc. The paper presents a detailed description of the fixing of metallic parts to porcelain insulators, a factor which considerabl;• influences the mechanical strength of insulators.
