Abstract
The Indian Ceramic Society was inaugurated in the Banaras Hindu University on 15th April, 1928 by the late }iahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, founder of the Banaras Hindu University. Revered Ylalaviyaji, in his inaugural address, rightly stressed the importance of developing the Ceramic industries of our country. In the Banaras Hindu University, he started the teaching of Geramics as early as 1924 along with other technical subjects. The Departments of Ceramics and Glass have been doing good work and providing trained graduates to man the different Ceramic industries. Further, the Indian Ceramic Society has all along been guided and supported generously by the Banaras Hindu University.
