Abstract |
Laser-assisted machining (LAM) of ZrO2 was investigated to determine the effect of
process parameters on machinability. Through simulation experiments and singlefactor
experiments, the reasonable range of the four main processing parameters of
laser power (P), cutting speed ( ), feed rate (f) and cutting depth (ap) in LAM were
determined. Taguchi method was used in the experiment and the results were analyzed.
The results showed that the influence order and contribution percentage of each
factor on surface roughness and tool wear were as follows: P (73.91%) > ap (20.54%)
> v (2.50%) > f (1.67%); P (72.70%) > ap (22.07%) > v (1.99%) > f (1.72%). The combination
of process parameters to obtain the best surface roughness and minimum tool wear
were: P = 115 W, v = 287.98 mm/s, f = 8 mm/min, ap = 0.15 mm; P = 115 W, = 183.23
mm/s, f = 5 mm/min, ap = 0.15 mm.
