The principles involved in trhe washing of china clays and the varioust stages
of operation are ,discussed. The improvements t1hat can be effected by electrotytes,
in the quality and the quantity of the recov, ered fraction are shown. The necessity,
of including a demagnetising step is stressed. A decolourising process, developed
at the Central Glass & Ceramic Research Institute, considerably impTOves the
brightness of the clay, in •some instances upto 15-20 uniits. This process can be incorporated
in the regular operations of a washing plant. |
