Abstract
Since the U. P. Government started a Pottery Centre at Khnrja, District Bulandshahr in 194 3, the want of a suitable cheap pottery clay has been felt. Khurja h!ts tried a number of clays notably of Rajmahal, Kasimbazar, Travancore, Tikaria, etc., but their high cost has always been a hindrance.
