Abstract
I deem it a very great pleasure and privilege to welcome you all in our midst in Bangalore to-day. Although our City does not possess the reputation of being a great Industrial City, yet on account of its salubrious climate and well laid out parks and buildings we claim Bangalore to be one of the finest Cities in India, and I venture to hope that your short stay here will be quite pleasant and enjoyable. At the very outset, I beg to crave your indulgence for any short comings that you may find in the arrangements made for your stay during your short sojourn here. Although our energetic Secretary, Mr. Venkatachallam and the other members of our Reception Committee have taken considerable pains to make the Conference a resounding success and your stay as comfortable as possible, yet due to various factors there are bound to be a few omissions and commissions due to neglect and other causes, for which I crave your indulgence.
