Abstract
Tale with felspar has a eutecti~ between 1160-1200' C. Talc
and felspar were used in the body there fora, to make craze pr.oof
earthenware. The formation of K Mg glass in the body is
supposed to produce a rigid structure in which the remaining
constituents of the earthenware body are bound prevnzting delayed
crazing or crazing in autoclave. Microscopic examination also
indicated that coarseness of structure or porosity notwithstanding,
craz~ proof earthenware could be ma1e using talc in conjunction
with felspar.
