Abstract
During the last few years considerable amount of work has been done on t.he glass sands and several localities have been described where satisfactory quality of silica occurs in some form or other suitable for the glass industry. But inspite of all this no new locality has been developed during the last five years. Still gbss sand is being sent to glass factories all over India, ' from t!1e old l;)cality near Allahabad. Really speaking in India the number of localities where suitable kinds of glass sand can be produced is so large that it should be possible for most of the factories to get their sand requirements within a radius of 200 miles instead of getting it from thousands of miles away.
