| Abstract |
| Apart from dissolved gases, metallic (sodium) and non-metallic
inclusions are often present in the metals of aluminium and its alloys.
These are known to exert deleterious effects on the mechanical properties
of both cast and wrought alloys. In this paper, the development
and use of a special ceramic filter to remove the inclusions have been
described. The results of industrial trials are also incorporated. |
