Abstract
Wollastonite is widely used in many countries,
notably, the United States, Finland and Denmark
in the ceramic industry for the manufacfacture
of tiles, glaze, semi-vitreous artware,
colour stains and low-loss electrical insulating
materials. An extensive deposit of high purity
wollastonite occurs in India in the Jodhpur Division
of Rajasthan State. The reserve has been
estimated at about 5 million tons. Several other
occurrences of wollastonite are in Madhya
Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Total reserve of
wollastonite in India possibly exceeds 20 million
tons.
