| THE adhesion of polymers to glass-like surfaces is
both of scientific interest and considerable technological
importance. Many scientific problems, such as the
nature of the glass surface, and the interactions between
the surface and coupling agents are incompletely understood.
The present review summarises some of the
evidence that is available on this subject. In the production
of laminated safety glass, the adhesion of a plastic
interply to glass surfaces is a long standing technological
problem. More recently, glass fibre-polymer composites
have become very important as structural materials. |
