Abstract
Studies on mineralogical examination by D.T.A. and physico-chemical properties of eight samples of clays associated with the bauxite deposits in SalaZ area of Jammu province were carried out with a view to evaluating their suitability for refractory applications. Some of these cluys are of the high alumina type in which kaolinite is associated with Vtirying proportions of diaspore and offer wide scope for application in the manufacture of superduty fireclay or high alumina refractories.
