Abstract
The factors likely to affect the end properties and particularly the fired strength of heat insulating mica bricks made by the extrusion process were studied. As compared to the soft-mud process, extrusion improred the strength considerably and the best results were obtained using Rajharafire clay. Soaking time rather than the firing temperature was f(mnd to he more ejfectile in increasing the strength of the bricks.
