Abstract
In order to assess their binding characteristics
a detailed study of some clays was made. Oxidation
characteristics and the suitability of certain
Indian graphites for crucible manufacture were
studied. Compositions for clay-bonded and carbonbonded
crucibles together with those for glazes,
both external and internal, were developed.
Indigenous manufacture of these crucibles will
he of help in saving a considerable amount of
foreign exchange.
