Abstract
The mineralogical composition of magnesite
from Doba area was determined by microscopical
and D.T.A. methods. Bricks made
of it had excellent refractory properties.
Experimental details are given. Additions of
mineralisers to improve spa/ling resistance
and refractoriness under load are described.
The constitution and properties of these
refractories are discussed in relation to the
nature of phase equilibria involved. The
usefulness of this magnesite in relation to
requirements under the Second Five Year
Plan is discussed.
