The clay bed occurs at a depth of 30 to 40 ft. below the surface and is overlain by banded haematite. The clay contains on an average ·64 per cent of silica. Its optical, physicochemical and other properties have been studied. The clay is considered to be good enough for the manufacture of inferior grade .of ceramic goods.
