Abstract |
Abstmct : The investigation aims at developing forsterite
refractories, ttsing serpentine and dunite as raw mtJteriaZs,
Serpentine from Ramla and Talagutu mines, Singhbhum
District, Bih1r and dunite from Ohttllc Hills, Salem District,
Madras have been used in this study. Tl1e mineralogical
changes talcing place in the raw matedals at vario11s temperatures
have been stu lied, without antl with additions of ma9nesite,
to detm·mine the amount of magneftite and the ji1·ing temperature
necessary for tlze complete conve1·sion of the rnagnePium silicate
?oclcs to forsterite. The refractory properties of various compositions
were also determined. |
