Abstract
Of the three varieties of natural graphite, only one variety, name) y, fl,dry graphite, has found extensive use in the ceramic industry as a raw material for crucibles and other refractories mˇlde of graphite. Formerly, the crystalline var:ety was used for the same purpose, but they were found to be unsuitable as the particles undergo quick disintegration during mixir1g operations and thereby lo,ver the quality of the produce. Still, it is used as a partial substitute of fb.ky graphite it1 som~ cases to bring down the cost of production.
