| Abstract |
| On behalf of the Banaras Hindu University and the Reception
Committee of the Silver Jubilee Session of the Indian Ceramic
Society, I have great pleasure in extending to you all a very
warm and cordial welcome. We are particularly grateful to
our chief guests Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant, the Chief Minister
of Uttar Pradesh, and Prof. W. E. S. Turner for having graced
the occasion with their presence. We feel greatly honoured
to have them in our midst today on this happy occasion. At
a time when Panditji is so much preoccupied with the work
of the State, it is indeed very kind of him to have accepted our
invitation and to have found time for coming here to bless the
function. That Prof. Turner, in spite of his age, should have
accepted our request is proof of his deep interest in the promotion
of glass and ceramic studies. All of us are aware of his
pioneering efforts in establishing and developing glass technology
in his home country. |
