| Abstract |
| Studies on decolorisation with selenium were
made on a glass of the type used for making
containers. The glasses were melted in 5 lbs.
and so lbs. pots. Their colour was measured
spectrophotometrically. Values for C.I.E. chro~
maticity and luminous transmittance were cal·
culated and colourlessness of the glasses was
thereby assessed. The minimum amount of sele·
nium required for decolorisation has been found
out. Suggestions for economising the use of
selenium are given. |
