Abstract
The prosperity of any country is largely based on its industry and the prime need of any industry is power. The practice of generating electric power locally is gradually giving way to the bulk generation in large thermal or hydro-electric units, which are being built to meet the increasing demand of the industry. For transmission of power to the consuming centres with a minimum loss, electrical insulators of appropriate qualities have to be used. '•
