| Abstract |
| Chemical and physical properties of a sample tJf dead-burnt sea-water magnesia
supplied by Messrs. Tata Chemicals, Mithapur, were studied with a view to utilise
it for refractory pur~oJ,es. Though the lime content. of the. pea-size magne9ia was
more tluzn that specified in the IS ~pec-Dfica6.ion for the material to be used tn
steel plants, the physical and refractory properties Tlevealed that it couM be used for
making good quality basic bricks as . wel~ as for fettlz'ng purposes without any
adverse effects. The possibility of reducing the lime content by adjustmg the composition
of the feed has been suggested. |
