Abstract
I deeply appreciate the honour the Indian Ceramic Society
has done me in asking me to address you in the technical
session. The Chairman of our Reception Committee and the
Honorary Secretary of the Society desired that I should speak on
a subject which should be of interest as far as possible to every
member of the Society. This wa3 obviously a difficult task and if
I fail in your expectations, the blame should also be shared by
them. We are all interested in the planning of our industries
and we are glad that the National Planning Commission has
decided to include our industries into their Five Year Plan.
I felt that I should speak about some of my ideas regarding
the potentialities of some of the ceramic industries. I have
not chosen this subject with any pretensions of reading into the
future as astrologers do, but after basing my ide:!s on some of
the recent happenings and future trends.
