Abstract
Ceramic industry is one of the oldest and perhaps also one of the most fundamental industry for general prosperity and econ~mic progress of a country. The importance of this industry is self-evident ; and in any large national planning this industry cannot be ignored. From the earliest dawn of civilization man has developed the Ceramic art and the progress he has made are now measured by the yardstick of ceramic projucts unearthed during the several periods, In India ceramic art was known to the people probably in the third millennium B. C.
