Abstract
The mineral fluorite or fluor-spar is commercially of great
importance due to its being useful in the metallurgical, ceramic
and chemical industries. An important use of the mineral i.s
for the preparation of artificial cryolite (sodium-aluminium
fluoride) used in the extraction of aluminium metal from bauxite.
