Abstract
The sail_dstone of Sawai Madhopur which has been known
from a long time is one of the chief sources -of supply of sand
to many of the glass factories of Western U. P. and the Punjab.
Sawai Madhopur is a railway junction on the main B.B.C.I.
broaJ gauge line in J aipur State and is also connected with the
town of Jaipur by a meter gauge branch line of Jaipu:r State
Railway. It is at a distance of about 40 miles by a pacca road·
from Sheopur the last terminus of the Gwalior Light Railway
in the Gwalior State.
