Abstract
The name 'felspar' is applied to a group of alumino-silicate& of potllssium, sodium or calcium or of ali three, rarely of barium. The felspars are of great importance as rock-forming minerals, in fact they may be compared in importance with all other mineral groups combined, since they constitute aLout GO}~ of igneous rocks and serve as a basis for their classification. The alkali felspars are extensively used in poreelain, pottery and glass inuustries.
