Abstract
Sulphur has been used in medicine both in Ayurvedic and Unani systems since early times. The Sanskrit works mention four varieties of sulphur red, yellow, white and black, each having different therapeutic value. Sulphur has also been used in considerable quantities for the manufacture of gunpowder and in fire-works.
