| Abstract |
| Of late, there has been a marked and ever increasing
tendency in the Indian glass industry towards the installation
of tauk furnaces in preference to pot furnaces, and in the
years to come the use of tank furnaces is not likely to wane.
Very probably it will be the reverse. As the performance,
efficiency and life of these furnaces have been proved to be
affected in an appreciable measure, by the play of glass
currents inside, it is interesting to review the available
knowledge on the subject. Perhaps it will not be an
exaggeration to state that this knowledge will have an
important bearing on the design of tank furnaces of the future. |
