Abstract
The present report demonstrates synthesis of Li4SiO4 powder through solution combustion route using silica from rice husk ash (RHA). RHA is cheap agricultural waste and can be easily procured. It is found that phase pure Li4SiO4 powder can be prepared at 650oC. It is also observed that phase purity of the powder depends on metal to fuel ratio of the starting solution. Finally, microwave sintering is carried out to densify the synthesized Li4SiO4 to more than 80% of theoretical density at a temperature 1000oC.
