Abstract
Polycrystalline samples of Ba1K_,DyNbiU0311 (hereafter BKDN) has been synthesized by conventional high· temperature solid state reaction technique. Using X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique, the formation of single phase orthorhombic structure is confirmed. Detailed studies of dielectric constant (£) and loss (tan S) as a function of frequency (400 Hz-1 MHz) and temperature (30°·250°C) reveal that this compound has low dielectric constant and it undergoes diffuse phase transition. DC resistivity (p) of BKDN is also measured in 30°·340°C range at a constant electric field indicating semiconducting nature at higher temperatures.
