Abstract
High carbon ferro-chrome slag in the range of 10-40 wt% has been incorporated in conventional ceramic tile composition to study its suitability as one of the body raw materials. The tiles were subjected to heat treatment at 950°-llOooc and the properties were evaluated in relation to slag content at different heating temperatures. It was found that addition of 10% slag improved the bending strength, %water absorption and bulk density of 950°C tired tiles. The scientitic aspect behind improvement in properties is discussed in the paper.
