Abstract
Ternat-y and quatemat-y hlemls wca·e made from Portland
cement clinker, bag house dust, gl"llnulated blast furnace
slag and gypsum. Hydl"fttinn prnpea·ties were studied by dctcnnining
free lime, non-evapomhle water contents, setting
times, compa·essiw stt·ength etc. X-ray diffraction pattems
nf some of the hyda·ated samples were also a·ecna·ded. The
results have shown that in the pa·es.ence of 1111 appropriate
amount of bag house dust and gypsum, the limitations of
slag cements can be a·emo·ed. The mechanism of hydration
has been discussed.
