Abstract
The physical, chemical and mineralogical characters of clays from
Nileswar, Payyangadi and Kannapuram mines of Cannanore district
in Kerala state are described. The investigations show that the deposits
are primary in nature and the recovery of the clayey fraction is lower
than that from the deposits of the southern districts of this state.
Based on the above investigations, the optimum uses for these clays
are suggested for their improved utilization.
