Abstract
The advantages of laser driiJiDg of ceramics are that boles can be accurately positioned with higher precision as compared to conventional methods. A continuous wave C01 laser is used to driB holes in sintered alumina substrates. The mic:rostrnctures have been stnclied, using a scanning electron microscope. The morphology of the hole formed has been studied near the aftected zones, both radially and axially.
